Hi I'm Stvn. I've been working in the Des Moines tattoo industry since 2005. I became a tattoo artist in Des Moines in 2013. I opened Scarlet Cardinal Tattoo in May of 2024 to try and cultivate a calm vibe and a safe space not just for me and my fellow artist but for the clients as well. I named it Scarlet Cardinal in honor of my daughter who passed away when she was 4, they say Cardinals are loved ones coming back to visit you and since she passed they seem to follow me everywhere.

I mostly do large scale custom black work/black and grey tattoos but I'm able to just about anything you might throw my way. I do a lot of florals, illustrative, fine line, ornamental, fantasy/sci-fi, anime/manga, and ornamental tattoos and I enjoy doing them. If you would like to schedule with me the best way is to use my request form using linktr.ee/stvngeyertattoo. All my details about rates and scheduling hours are at the top of the form.

Every tattoo starts with a conversation. Whether you have a fully formed idea, a meaningful reference, or only a loose concept, I’ll work with you to create a custom design that feels personal and fits your body well. My goal is to make the process comfortable from the first request through the final session, with clear communication, thoughtful planning, and a relaxed studio experience.
